Zelda was scared for today. Everything that had happened in the last few years had shocked her. There was always going to be those two main shocks of her life. The shock of her kidnapping and being taken to a place she'd stay for two years of her life and the shock of being free. The shock that she made herself free. That she had actually went forward and helped herself for once. It was something that she wasn't use to. She had always been doing things for other. Emma Matthews, her mother, had constantly made her study and it was to please Emma. When she was kidnapped she listened to what he said, it was to make him happy. For some reason, she enjoyed his approval. At the same time, she was fairly numb to it. She was hurt and had came on the tour to get away from it. River had been asked why she was on the tour. Zelda just felt more comfortable not being in one place. The still-ness of her house had scared her. She was scared and she hated it. Fear wasn't something that was new to her. Fear felt like an old friend at this point.
"No, that's all.." Zelda sighed. Today was terrible so far. She walked on the shore of the beach, shoeless with a woman. She had short red hair and pale, freckled skin. Zelda had asked about one hundred questions before agreeing to tell the story again. Zelda knew this was something she was going to have to do for a long time. One thing Zelda knew for a fact that this woman wasn't the press. She was part of the government who worked for missing or stolen children. This wasn't something Zelda wanted to do. She had to though. When Zelda was done talking the woman asked her a few more questions, said goodbye and left. Zelda kept walking the shore, looking around. Being alone was making her nervous. Everytime she was out all she could think about was how easy it would be for someone to hurt her again,

For river, the day had been less than satisfying. There had been technical difficulties during the show and his mind was weighing with issues flooding his life. Not to mention the insane amount of questions he was getting about his sister after his appearance on Mia's show. That in itself was enough to drive him into the ground and give him enough incentive to take a break.
Luckily, the tour had stopped in a nice, coastal city and that gave River the opportunity to head out towards the beach. He wanted a bit of time to himself to gather his thoughts and just relax and the water always did wonders for that. So, the blond pulled on a pair of swim trunks and a tank top before taking a short walk to the beach.
When he got there, he spotted another person walking idly along the shores. Upon closer examination, he recognized the stranger as his sister and sighed, wondering absently if she were there for the same reason he was. Making his slow steps across the beach, River walked to catch up with her. When he reached her, he gently reached a hand out on her shoulder to stop her. "Zel?" he asked carefully, not wanting to startle her.

Zelda was pretty sure that the attention was only directed back to her by the NCM&E was because of Mia's show. She didn't want to ask. By now she was pretty use to being asked to share her story, she had declined every time it wasn't because of police purposes. Zelda had no desire to be in the media's eye. There seemed like very little point to it. She didn't understand why her brother wanted it. Why would you want someone watching your every move? Reporting it? Being well...out there.
Not that Zelda had a real taste of what the good media was. Well, better media anyway. Zelda had been throw in there because of terrible things. Zelda had tried damn well to stay out of it though. After her kidnapping she was taken around by someone who was introduced to her as Jacoby. Zelda had pretty much called him Sir at this point. Everytime there was some sort of media attraction he told her and ended up walking in front of her or holding a piece of paper a few inches from her face. They still took photos but there was no real identification that was really her. The first day she was released from the police station there were tons. It was wildly intimidating.
Feeling someone touch her she jumped instantly. Fuck!. Turning around and seeing it was River she let out a sigh of relief and offered a small smile. "Hi..".

River couldn't help the sad sigh that escaped him as his sister jumped in terror. He was almost positive he'd never get used to this version of his sister. Before he'd left, she was a completely different person and now..every step she took was in absolute fright that her captor would be back for her, ready to cut her from society again. In all honesty, River wouldn't know how to handle that situation. If it had been him, he'd like to think he would have have hit the guy and run but even he knew that his 12-14 year old self wouldn't have been able to manage that and the reminder that Zelda was that young only made him feel worse about it.
Offering his own small smile back to her, River withdrew his hand. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. Um, what are you doing out here by yourself though?" he asked, the concern thick in his voice. it was no secret that since her arrival, River had become more than protective over his sister. She was something of an important character to him and after all that had happened, River wanted to keep her as safe as possible. After all, that was sort of why he liked having her on tour. Aside from his performances, the venues usually weren't too large and losing someone wasn't easy. Besides that, River had made it his main priority to keep an eye on his sister and he wasn't ready to let that slip just yet.

If Zelda had learned anything from being kidnapped was that life was precious and it could be taken away from you at any moment. That you should never think "Oh it wont happen to me.". Life could be taken from you at any moment. Freedom could be taken from you. Any independence you had could be taken into the arms of another. No matter how much you hate that person, when it happens your life depends on them. Your food intake, clothing, air, and everything else was at their choice. They ran your life and were the moon to the earth to you. Most people didn't know how to deal with it. Zelda wasn't too sure how she was coping with it either. A lot of people had asked her how she dealt with it and dealt with the fact that he was still out there. Zelda rarely left with out someone. If she did leave alone she was normally in a public place.
Before Zelda had gotten kidnapped she was a normal kid. She had always excelled though. It was something she always had done. When Zelda was kidnapped a few people from school thought she had faked the whole thing, couldn't take the pressure and copped out. After Zelda found out that some people thought that, she thought it was a good idea. "O-oh...uh..I-it's fine." Zelda then listened to his questioned, shrugging. "No-nothing. W-what are y-you d-d-doing h-here? Zelda spoke, her voice shaky. There were times when Zelda just didn't talk, too frustrated that she was so scared to speak.

River nodded carefully, picking his words carefully. The absolute last thing that he wanted was to scare Zelda off or bother her with his problems, which always seemed so trivial in comparison to everything she had gone through. So he was a little bothered that things with Angel weren't going as he wanted, that after weeks of him being gone he'd hardly had the time with the man he loved that he needed. So he was slightly bothered that his band's show had been less than satisfactory and that he had been flooded with questions on a show that he couldn't answer. Still, none of that could hold a candle to how he imagined Zelda felt. She had once been a normal kid, one who excelled but she still would smile and laugh like other children, fear things normal children feared and love things normal children loved.
Now, things were very different. The siblings who had once been so close were almost like strangers. Zelda chronically stuttered around him, making him feel like an outsider in her now secluded world. Still, he had to try and reach her somehow. "Oh, yeah me neither." he finally replied, a small smile playing on his lips. "Just thought I'd take a chance to catch the beach before we leave tomorrow." his light eyes scanned over the waters, mirroring the cool clue color. In a way, the mystery of what lied beneath the waves reminded him a bit of his sister. She was quiet, like the waters, but there was so much hiding beneath his wordlessness that no one knew about, and he doubted anyone ever would.

Zelda wanted to live in her own private world, but at the same time she was scared to be alone. It was contradicting and confusing. She wanted to be around people but have them pay no mind to her. Zelda glanced around. Everything was go big and constantly changing. There was so many people, faces, names to learn and schedules to keep. She wasn't sure how to cope with it. Listening to each word carefully she nodded. "W-wh-where a-are w-w-we now? She asked, glancing around again. It was easy to forget where you were, had been and were going to be when you moved often. Zelda glanced over at the beach. It had been a long time since she had been at the beach. She wasn't sure if she even could swim anymore. "I c-came h-h-he-her-here to t-tal-talk to Sir. Zelda said, forgetting that it wasn't normal to call someone else Sir like it's their name all the time. Whatever, if he brought it up she'd say that she forgot his name. "He w-w-wo-work-works for N.C.M a-and E." Zelda explained herself. If he didn't know what the N.C.M and E was she'd just explain herself again. Most people didn't anyway. Zelda was scared to tell Sir that there was things she didn't tell him. There was some things Zelda couldn't and wouldn't talk about.

River had to admit, he was thrown a bit by the whole "Sir" from "NCM and E" thing, but with all the questions his sister got on a regular basis, he decided it was better to trust the slightly official sounding nature of it all and spare her more questions. So instead, River nodded. "Oh, we're in California. Headed towards Washington tomorrow." he said quietly in response to her first question. For him, touring had become second nature. He was used to living out of a bus and not really having an official place to call home. He stayed in an apartment big enough for himself when he wasn't touring, not really finding it necessary to have a giant house all to himself. River was humbled in that way, never really letting the fame get to him. He knew he was a cliche, the good guy rockstar who's down to earth as they come and his closeted skeletons only added to it, but he tried to disregard those facts, toss them aside and continue on with everything. Still, he could never quite grasp just exactly how even his minor issues had him wanting to crawl into bed and not come out when Zelda pushed through all that she had been through, living in daily terror and still went on with her work. He'd be a liar to say that he didn't admire his little sister. "Um, cool. Have you already talked to him or..still expecting him? Should I leave when he comes?" he asked. It was slightly nervewracking talking to Zelda. He was constantly worried about bringing up something that would upset her or saying something stupid.

Hearing where they were, she kind of glanced around. It made more sense. Zelda got a bit wide eyed when she realized that they'd be going to Washington then Idaho. Where the person who kidnapped her lived and where she stayed. She was too focused that she almost tripped while walking, after she almost fell, she kept walking though, instantly freaked out in her head. Zelda didn't want to freak River out by saying everything, but her hands were shaking at this point. "W-We already tt-alked," Zelda glanced at him. A silence fell betweem them for a few moments. "I'm so-sorry. I-I d-di-didn't k-kn-know a-all this stu-stuff wit-with Mia w-wo-woul-would happen w-wh-when I came on t-tou-tour o-or th-that you di-didn't know a-about....w-wha-what happened." Zelda finally spoke. She felt bad for worrying him so much.
